Main Distribution Unit (UID) of PLN Inc. is committed to support the U-17 FIFA World Cup held at Gelora Bung Tomo (GBT) Stadium from November 10th to December 2nd, 2023. “We have prepared 180 personnel at 15 event locations including GBT stadium, training field of Gelora November 10, Thor Field, Juanda Airport, and hotels for officials and players,” says the General Manager of East Java PLN UID, Agus Kuswardoyo on Monday (11/13/2023). He explains that the strategy of three security rings will also be implemented to ensure smooth supply. The electric supply will be distributed through GBT Express Feeder as the main supply, GH Tandono feeder, and Randu Padangan Feeder as the secondary supply. The power capacity of the electricity system in East Java is 9999 MW with a peak load of 6664 MW and there is still a power reserve of 3335 MW. Agus adds that PLN is continuously coordinating with FIFA Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and Surabaya Venue Management not only in supplying electricity, but also in inspecting installed electricity system of GBT Stadium. “Yesterday we have inspected several instalment point to two hours before the match to ensure proper equipment use that requires inventoried electricity and also to minimize disturbance potentials,” Agus conclude ad/as/pr/nm
