Public Dialogue Held to Raise Awareness on Violence against Vulnerable Groups

inp.polri.go.id - Central Java. The vulnerability of migrant workers is one of the issues related to human trafficking (TPPO) in Central Java.

Throughout 2025, 118 cases of problematic Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) were recorded, including 19 cases related to TPPO.

This issue was highlighted in the Central Java Regional Police's Jurisdictional Public Dialogue entitled "Synergy in Preventing and Handling Violence Against Women, Children, and Vulnerable Groups, as well as Eradicating Human Trafficking through Strengthened Cooperation."

The event, held by the Directorate of Investigation for the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking (Ditres PPA-PPO) of the Central Java Regional Police, took place at the Borobudur Building, Central Java Regional Police Headquarters.

During the event, the Vice Chief of the Central Java Regional Police, Brigadier General Latif Usman read out the message from the Chief of the Central Java Regional Police, Inspector General Ribut Hari Wibowo. The Chief stated that the threat of violence against women, children, vulnerable groups, and human trafficking is increasingly complex, requiring the involvement of various parties to prevent it.

"Today's threats are increasingly complex. Violence occurs not only physically, but also through digital spaces, social media, economic exploitation, sexual violence, bullying, and recruitment patterns that place victims in vulnerable situations," read Latif.

Central Java Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Yuliyanto, emphasized that efforts to prevent violence and human trafficking require the involvement of all elements of society.

"The problem of violence and human trafficking cannot be resolved by the police alone. It requires concern and collaboration from families, educational institutions, the government, communities, the business world, the media, and the entire community. When there is suspicion of violence or human trafficking, don't remain silent and don't be afraid to report it," Yuliyanto emphasized.
