inp.polri.go.id - The proud young lifter of Indonesia, Rahmat Erwin Abdullah, successfully won a gold medal from the 2021 Sea Games weightlifting sport which was held at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center, Saturday (21/05/22). Not only winning a gold medal, Rahmat Erwin Abdullah also made an extraordinary result for breaking his own record at the 2021 SEA Games. Rahmat Erwin Abdullah won the gold medal in the 73 kg weightlifting class after recording a total of 345 kg by lifting 155 kg snatch and 190 kg clean and jerk. The athlete defeated Anucha Doungsri (Thailand) and Muhammad Erry Hidayat (Malaysia) who respectively won silver and bronze medals. Anucha Doungsri recorded a total lift of 321 kg, while Muhammad Erry Hidayat made a lift of 316 kg. Rahmat Erwin Abdullah set a SEA Games record after successfully lifting 155 kg in the third batch of snatch. Thus, the bronze medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics also managed to set a new record at the 31st edition of the SEA Games. The previous record was also his. Previously, Rahmat Erwin managed to set a 73kg class record by lifting 145kg snatch and 177kg clean and jerk. This record was made at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines.
