Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian dismissed opposition from some village heads to the Red and White Village Cooperatives initiative as a communication issue.
To address concerns, he and Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi will meet with village associations to clarify the program.
“Next week, Minister Budi Arie and I will engage with key associations to prevent misunderstandings,” Minister Tito said on Friday (7/3/2025) at the Presidential Palace.
He acknowledged regional leaders prefer programs to be 70% community-driven and 30% government-supported. However, he stressed the Red and White cooperatives is a breakthrough initiative by President Prabowo Subianto to enhance village welfare.
“This is unprecedented—additional funding, full government backing, and cooperatives serving as community hubs, including healthcare services,” Minister Tito said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
President Prabowo held a meeting Friday morning with top officials, including Tito, Budi Arie, and senior cabinet members, to discuss the cooperative program and other grassroots initiatives.
