Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Riau Islands Regional Police uncovered two separate drug trafficking operations in Batam, arresting four suspects and seizing 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine and over 5 kilograms of dried marijuana.
"This disclosure is the result of hard work by our personnel in following up on public information and developing networks," said Riau Islands Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Dr. Nona Pricillia Ohei, on Saturday (20/6/2026).
The first arrest occurred at Hang Nadim International Airport on Wednesday, where officers intercepted a woman, identified as SF, carrying 200 grams of methamphetamine hidden in her clothing.
In a follow-up raid on Thursday night, officers detained three male suspects, identified as MF, F, and MZ, across Batam, recovering 5,042 grams of dried marijuana hidden across multiple locations. All suspects are currently detained at the Riau Islands Police headquarters for further investigation into their wider distribution networks.
