inp.polri.go.id - Riau Islands. Riau Islands Regional Police Chief Inspector General Asep Safrudin, attended the Simultaneous Corn Harvest for the Second Quarter of 2026 with the President of the Republic of Indonesia virtually via Zoom Meeting to support the national food security program.
The event took place at the Botania Food Security Field in Batam City on Saturday (May 16, 2026).
During the event, the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief stated that they remain committed to supporting national food self-sufficiency through various strategic programs in the agricultural sector.
Throughout 2025, they successfully planted corn on a total of 661,000 hectares of land, yielding a harvest of 3.9 million tons, contributing to increased national corn production.
The Simultaneous Corn Harvest in the Second Quarter of 2026 will involve harvesting on 189,760 hectares of land, with an estimated yield of approximately 1.23 million tons.
Furthermore, the INP are developing various agricultural innovations, such as coal-based precision fertilizer, corn threshing machines, mobile rotary dryers, and the utilization of corn cobs as alternative energy briquettes through collaboration with local MSMEs.
Through this activity, the Riau Islands Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Safrudin, emphasized their readiness and commitment to continue supporting government programs through synergy with all parties in the province.
