Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State-owned toll road operator PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol recorded that vehicles leaving Jakarta continued to dominate transactions at the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the second day of Eid or April 23, 2023.

Based on data from the Cikampek Utama toll gate monitoring post transaction system on April 23, 2023, at 23:20 Western Indonesia time (WIBB), 54,147 vehicles were leaving Jakarta to Palimanan via the Cikampek Utama toll gate while the cars heading to Jakarta via the Cikampek Utama toll gate was recorded at 16,845 vehicles.

The Cikampek Utama toll gate monitoring post also recorded the same pattern on the day of Eid on April 22, 2023, as 74,420 vehicles left Jakarta, while the incoming vehicle recorded 9,848 cars.

The government predicts the peak of the 2023 Eid return exodus or known as arus balik will take place on April 24 and 25 as well as April 29 and 30 and May 1, 2023.

"From our analysis, the peak starts on Monday, April 24; Tuesday, April 25; Saturday, April 29, Sunday, April 30 and Monday, May 1," Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said after the Coordination Meeting for the Preparation of the 2023 Arus Balik in Jakarta on Monday (4/24/2023).

Therefore, his ministry recommends travelers avoid the peak of the arus balik to prevent the potential accumulation of vehicles on the roads.

"We recommend that people do not travel on the dates mentioned," the minister explained.

He added that his ministry has coordinated with some parties to intensify dissemination of the travel recommendations to the public to schedule their travel time to avoid the peak of the arus balik.
