Inspector General Angesta Romano Yoyol, the Chief of Gorontalo Regional Police, has confirmed that security operations remain in effect as of today (22/9/23) in the aftermath of recent clashes during the demonstration in Pohuwanto. The police force has been reinforced to ensure comprehensive coverage of the area. "Yes, we have deployed additional personnel at six key points. We believe our security measures are sufficient," he stated on Thursday (21/9/23). Following the clashes, the police chief reported damage to seven facilities. Currently, the his office is actively engaged in an extensive data collection effort to ascertain the status of other affected facilities. He also  revealed that ten police officers sustained injuries and a number of participants in the demonstration have been arrested. "A thorough investigation is currently underway," he concluded.
