The ship, named MT Global 168, is now safely docked at Belawan Port, North Sumatra, under escort by joint officers. Evidence, including ketamine, was also seized during the operation.
"The ship has been towed and escorted by a Water Police and Customs vessel, and has docked safely, along with evidence of the ketamine," the Director of Narcotics Crimes of INP, Brigadier General Kristian Parluhutan Siagian, told the media in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/21/2026).
In the operation, officers arrested eight individuals suspected of involvement, consisting of seven Indonesian citizens (WNI) and one foreign national (WNA).
However, the police have not yet disclosed the details of the chronology of the disclosure, the quantity of ketamine evidence, or the roles of each individual arrested.
Kristian stated that a more complete explanation regarding the disclosure of the case will be presented at a press conference on Friday (10/23/2026).
"The INP Chief himself will release the information on Friday," he said.
