Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. Crime is often deeply rooted in socio-economic struggles like poverty, unemployment, and lack of skills. To address these root causes, Senior Inspector Dr. M. Fadli Amri introduced the concept of "Sociopreneurship Policing" in his doctoral dissertation at Sultan Agung Islamic University (UNISSULA), Semarang.

This innovative framework blends policing sciences, community policing, social entrepreneurship, and social crime prevention. It positions the Indonesian National Police (INP) not as a business entity, but as a strategic facilitator and catalyst to empower local communities and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

"Sociopreneurship policing uses social entrepreneurship as an instrument to create social value, strengthen collaboration between the INP and the public, and prevent crimes driven by socio-economic pressures," Officer Fadli said.

Under this concept, police officers can serve the public in two distinct ways. First, they can act as active innovators by initiating social enterprises, such as free schools, waste management hubs, or care facilities for vulnerable groups. Second, they can serve as community facilitators who connect local businesses with the resources, networks, and guidance needed to thrive.

The framework strictly emphasizes institutional ethics, transparency, and accountability to avoid any conflicts of interest. Ultimately, sociopreneurship policing aims to complement traditional law enforcement with a humanistic, proactive strategy, building community resilience to naturally shrink the space for criminal activities.
