inp.polri.go.id -Serang. The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terrorist, through the Banten Regional Task Force, is strengthening its efforts to prevent extremism through a dialogue with the theme "The Path to Wasathiyah". This activity provides a space for regional leaders and former extremists to build awareness of a healthy, moderate ideology and strengthen national commitment.

The activity, which took place in the Le Dian Hotel & Cottages Hall, Serang City, on Tuesday (9/29/2026), was attended by 61 former Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) participants from the Banten region. The event also involved representatives from the local government, security forces, religious leaders, religious organizations, and several former JI figures from outside Banten.

The Head of the Banten Regional Task Force for Densus 88 Anti-Terrorist, Senior Superintendent Mayndra Eka W., expressed his appreciation to all participants and speakers. He stated that the activity was part of the roadmap agreed upon by Densus 88 Anti-Terrorist and former JI members following JI's disbandment.

"This program is a series of roadmaps that are expected to encourage participants to be more blended with the public and play a positive role in society, as well as to strengthen their commitment to bring positivity to Indonesia through faith, piety, and trustworthiness," he said.

Mayndra explained that the Densus 88 Anti-Terrorist has prepared 19 empowerment activities for ex-JI members in various regions of Indonesia. The program's implementation is also supported by regional partners who actively collaborate in the prevention and deradicalization process.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Banten Province Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office, Dr. H. Amrullah, expressed his appreciation for the event. He emphasized that cultural, ethnic, linguistic, and religious diversity is both a wealth and a strength of the Indonesian nation that needs to be nurtured through tolerance, mutual respect, and strengthening unity.

According to him, the transformation process is expected to strengthen equality in national life by establishing Pancasila as the state ideology. The JI Ideological Transformation activities are also seen as part of a moral movement to build shared awareness and strengthen national commitment.
