inp.polri.go.id - Solok. Vice Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto assessed that the Solok Regency area, West Sumatra has very large potential both in tourism and agriculture to encourage economic growth of the local community.
"I see that there is still a lot of potential that has not been optimized for investment. Both investment in tourism and agriculture," he said while visiting the Alahan Panjang tourist village and the fried onion processing center in Nagari (Village) Alahan Panjang, Lembah Gumanti District, Solok Regency, Friday (5/31/2025).
In addition, he also appreciated the potential of the area in the field of horticulture agriculture, one of which is as the second largest producer of shallots in Indonesia after Brebes, Central Java.
"I am grateful to be able to see firsthand the second largest onion producer in Indonesia after Brebes," he said.
Not only that, Bima Arya also appreciated the natural beauty presented at the Alahan Panjang Resort tourist attraction, namely the charm of Danau Di Atas.
"This is an extraordinary gift from God. Not many areas in Indonesia have air as clean and cool as this. It even has five lakes at once. This great potential must be managed well," he said.
Chairman of the Solok Regency Parliament Ivoni Munir greatly appreciated the arrival of the Deputy Ministeo the area. He hoped that the visit would be a good start to improve the economy of Solok Regency.
"We welcome the Vice Minister of Home Affairs to this cold country without snow. Hopefully this visit will have a positive impact on the growth of the tourism sector and the regional economy," he said.
He also said that he had contacted many investors to invest in advancing tourism and agriculture in Solok Regency.
