Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The body of a South Korean hiker was found by the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Bali on Friday (3/1/2025), two days after he went missing during a solo climb on Mount Agung, Karangasem, in Bali.
The hiker, identified as Kyung Dam Oh (31) was discovered at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level, lying face down with head injuries, likely from a fall.
“The victim appeared to have suffered severe trauma from hitting rocks,” said Basarnas Bali Head I Nyoman Sidakarya, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The hiker had last contacted a friend on Wednesday, reporting his location at 2,000 meters. His rented motorbike was later found near Pura Pasar Agung, prompting a search involving 23 local guides and eight Basarnas staff.
After an unsuccessful first day, the search team located Kyung’s body early on the second day. The remains were evacuated to RSUD Karangasem for further procedures.
