inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The South Papua Provincial Government is directing the 2026 Revised Regional Budget (APBD) to strengthen human resources, control inflation, and increase food security and regional economic growth.

South Papua Regional Secretary Ferdinandus Kainakaimu, in a press release received by Antara in Jayapura on Sunday, stated that the budget allocation is primarily directed at improving the quality of education and health by strengthening facilities and infrastructure, as well as the capacity of educators and health workers.

"We must guarantee budget support for revitalizing health facilities and infrastructure, increasing the capacity of educators and health workers, and expanding access to quality and equitable health services," he said.

This was conveyed during a plenary meeting to discuss and approve a draft regional regulation on the 2026 revised APBD.

According to Ferdinandus, the regional government also needs to ensure the availability and affordability of food for the community while strengthening the productive economic sector to help control inflation.

He said strengthening the productive economy needs to be accompanied by the development of the creative industry so that people have more opportunities to develop businesses, increase income, and create jobs.

"Furthermore, we will encourage regional economic growth and the development of creative industries so that people have ample opportunities to develop businesses, increase income, and create jobs," he said.

Ferdinandus explained that the revised 2026 Regional Budget (APBD) was prepared as an adjustment to macroeconomic assumptions, actual regional revenue projections, and pressing needs and priorities in governance and public services.

"We must also ensure optimal budget implementation timing so that all programs and activities can run effectively, efficiently, and on target, while providing tangible benefits to the community," he said.

He added that the South Papua Provincial Government hopes that every budget allocated in the 2026 Revised APBD will have an impact and benefits that can be directly felt by the community.
