Inp.polri.go.id - Palembang: The South Sumatra Regional Police launched the Gerakan Asri environmental cleanup campaign at the Paakri Complex in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Tuesday (22/9/2026).

Led by South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, the initiative focused on clearing waste and restoring public grounds to foster healthier living environments.

"Environmental cleanliness is a shared responsibility," he said. "We aim to foster a culture of care starting from our immediate surroundings, demonstrating that police presence provides direct public benefits through sustainable community action."

South Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Nandang Mu'min Wijaya noted that the campaign aims to inspire broader public engagement in environmental stewardship. 

The South Sumatra Police plans to maintain ongoing community-centered initiatives to support public welfare and environmental sustainability across the province.
