Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. North Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police are probing the death of a cadet, identified as P (19), from state-owned maritime institute STIP Marunda, allegedly due to assault by seniors.

North Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Gidion Arif Setyawan confirmed on Friday (3/5/2024) that 10 witnesses were questioned to piece together the incident.

The victim suffered fatal injuries allegedly inflicted by his seniors in the campus bathroom on Friday morning. Visible bruises were seen on the victim's body, according to antaranews.com.

After being found lifeless at the campus clinic, the victim was moved to Tarumajaya Hospital in Bekasi, awaiting autopsy at the Indonesian National Police Hospital.

Forensic examinations are ongoing, cross-referencing with CCTV footage, Chief Gidion said.
