"The car has been found in Kemayoran," he said, according to antaranews.com. The theft of the police patrol car occurred during a patrol on HR Rasuna Said Street in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, in the early hours of Thursday morning. Chief Firman explained that a confrontation ensued between an online motorcycle taxi driver and the suspected pickpocket. Subsequently, the patrolling officers intervened, arrested the suspect, and placed him in the patrol car. The officers then stepped out of the vehicle to question the online motorcycle taxi driver about the incident. "During the brief questioning, the suspect fled, taking the patrol car with him," Chief Firman disclosed. Despite a brief pursuit, the suspect managed to escape. However, after an extensive search, the patrol car was found abandoned on the side of the road in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The police are pursuing the suspect.
