inp.polri.go.id – Binjai. Criminal Investigation Unit of Binjai Departmental Police successfully arrested five people of the motor theft syndicate. This group has sold 40 motorcycles and forges its documents.
The arrest of the five was started when a victim made a report No. LP/B/121/X/2021/SPKT Binjai Utara. As the follow-ups, the Police conducts an investigation of the motor theft case. From the victim's report, the Criminal Investigation Unit of North Binjai Sectoral Police successfully discovered five people of motorcycle theft syndicate using home-breaking modus.
"Besides arresting these five people, we also seized forged motorcycle documents. These perpetrators have sold 40 stolen motorcycles", Chief of PR Agency of Binjai Departmental Police, Police Commissioner Attendant Siswanto Ginting, on Sunday afternoon (7/11/2021).
The five perpetrators are JR and BP, residents of MT Haryono street, North Binjai.
Chief of PR Agency of Binjai Departmental Police explained that those two people take the role as the vehicle "harvester". HW, a resident of Diponegoro street, South Binjai, take the role of the seller and depositor of stolen vehicles.
And then there is also DH, resident of MJ Sutoyo street, West Binjai, as the buyer and identity forger of stolen vehicles and license plates.
"The next one is IS, resident of MT Haryono street, Criminal Investigation Unit of North Binjai Sectoral Police also seized seven units of motorcycle, dozens of forged vehicle documents, and some tools to change the stolen vehicle's body.
Chief of PR Agency of Binjai Departmental Police said that this group sold the stolen vehicles to the buyers worth Rp2 million without vehicle documents (STNK).
For vehicles with STNK and fake police numbers, it is worth Rp3 million, in accordance with the vehicle's conditions.
"All five perpetrators are subjected to Article 363, 480, and 481 of Indonesian Criminal Code and threatened by nine years in prison", Chief of PR Agency of Binjai Departmental Police explained.
