Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. In support of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps of optimizing Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE), South Sulawesi Regional Police Traffic Directorate would follow suit in enforcing the advanced tech for Christmas security. South Sulawesi Regional Police Traffic Unit Director Senior Superintendent I Made Agus Prasatya says other than pre-emptive and preventive measures amidst the enforcement of 2023 Lilin Operation, Agus confirmed that his party would also implement ETLE enforcement other than direct warning to traffic violators. “In Christmas and 2024 New Year Eve security operation, we will strengthen our force by optimizing ETLE in 20 locations,” states Agus on Wednesday (12/27/2023). As of now, there are only 4 ETLE locations in South Sulawesi that has been operated since December 11th, 2023. Since then, the tech has recorded 327,256 violations. The highest recorded violations occurred at A.P Pettarani street in front of The Mutiara with a total violation of 115,504. Meanwhile, the most occurred violations is driving without seatbelt followed with the two motorbike passengers of 107,641. “From the four ETLE locations, along with the upcoming 20 more locations, could hopefully minimize the traffic disturbances and smoothen the traffic situations,” conclude South Sulawesi Regional Police Traffic Director.
