inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto immediately set several work priorities after being officially inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (10/1/2026).
Suyudi stated that his initial focus includes internal consolidation, improving public services, fair law enforcement, and strengthening the police's relationship with the community.
"Of course, we will prioritize efforts to improve public services, as well as fair law enforcement, and we will also strive to be closer to the community, in accordance with our work program, namely Police Together with the Community," Suyudi told reporters after his inauguration at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (10/1/2026).
To map out internal problems within the police, Suyudi said he would conduct evaluations across various divisions. This step will identify issues that require immediate attention and determine priorities for improvement.
"We will assess, we will try to address the issues, and we will also take steps we deem important and prioritize them. Of course, within the framework of maintaining public security and order and in accordance with our grand strategy," he said.
According to Suyudi, the police's close relationship with the community is a crucial part of carrying out their duties. The police must be present when the community faces problems and be able to provide solutions to the various difficulties they face.
He also ensured that internal reforms for INP will be implemented based on a policy roadmap that includes short-, medium-, and long-term strategies. All these steps are aimed at strengthening institutional performance and maintaining public security and order.
In addition to internal agendas, Suyudi stated that President Prabowo Subianto has focused attention on several types of crimes that need to be the focus of INP. These include drug trafficking, smuggling, online gambling (judol), and various acts that disturb the public.
