Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Indonesian National Police (INP) established a specialized task force on Thursday (9/4/2026) to prosecute travel agencies deploying pilgrims using non-procedural visas for the 2026 Hajj season.
"We formed this task force to ensure the public is protected and does not fall victim to scams involving various illegal modes of departure," said Deputy INP Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, as reported by antaranews.com
Following a direct mandate from President Prabowo Subianto, the unit will implement a three-tiered strategy involving education, preventive surveillance at major airports, and strict criminal enforcement.
To extend protection beyond borders, the INP will deploy personnel to Jeddah and Mecca to coordinate directly with Saudi security forces. A dedicated hotline has also been established to provide a rapid response to reports of non-official visa offers, ensuring that the 2026 Hajj season remains safe and procedurally sound for all citizens.
