inp.polri.go.id – The Indonesian Student Association in Germany, Frankfurt, and the surrounding areas (PPI Germany and PPI Frada) held an international conference for Southeast Asian students on June 4. The event was held in collaboration with the German non-profit organization, the European Union Frankfurt. The conference entitled "Southeast Asian Student Summit: ASEAN Can Do More" discussed various issues, namely ASEAN, the relationship between the European Union and ASEAN, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As reported in the German PPI release, this event was attended by 50 participants offline, and 30 participants online. Several students from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand also attended the conference. According to the General Chair of PPI Germany, Reza Syihabuddin Khasbullah, the purpose of this event is to provide awareness of international issues to Indonesian students. "I want Indonesian students in Germany to have more awareness on international issues and be more active in discussing the Southeast Asia region and also ASEAN, because this region has enormous potential in the future for the world," said Reza. According to PPI Germany, the conference was the first Southeast Asian student conference to be held in Germany. In addition to student conferences, this event was also accompanied by a culinary festival to introduce food and beverages in Southeast Asia.
