inp.polri.go.id - Convalescent plasma donors are a method of healing from Covid-19 infection. Convalescent plasma can be obtained from a Covid-19 survivor who has recovered in about three months.
Because it successfully fights infection, a survivor's plasma contains Covid-19 antibodies. These antibodies provide a way for a survivor's immune system to fight off the virus when a survivor is sick, so donating a survivor's convalescent plasma may help others fight the Covid-19 illness and help them recover.
The Head of the Central Indonesian Red Cross, Blood Donor Unit, Linda Lukitari Waseso, explained that convalescent plasma donors are a passive immunization method which is carried out by giving plasma from people who have recovered from Covid-19 to Covid-19 patients who are being treated.
This action is intended as an additional therapy for Covid-19 by inviting people who have recovered from Covid-19 to become plasma donors, said Linda when contacted by Kompas.com, Friday (07/09/21).
The following requirements are convalescent plasma donors:
