inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) of Medan, along with related agencies formed three teams to search for the missing flood victims in Padangsidimpuan.

“Since our search on the first day, we have formed three teams to several search divisions that involve other related parties,” says the Head of Medan Basarnas, Hery Marantika on Wednesday (3/19/2025).

He said that since the search operation after the flood that occurred on Friday (14/03) in Padangsidimpuan City, the joint team has found one victim who was dragged about 6 kilometers from the victim's house

The body of Bangun Hutabarat (70) a resident of Sihitang Village, Southeast Padangsidimpuan District, was found Tuesday (3/18/2025), at 13.30 WIB.

Bangun was sadly swept away along with one of his relatives. They were caught off-guard by the current as they were both sleeping.

"The victim's body was found stuck on land buried by branches and grass due to the flash flood and landslide caused by the overflowing Batang Ayumi River. Another victim is being searched for," he said.
