The Trade Ministry intensifies monitoring for consumer service at the gas station to anticipate cheating on fuel dispenser meters ahead of the 2024 Eid homecoming. “We will check the situation in all provinces, and we are committed to prevent travelers from being cheated. I have ordered the management to immediately fire those who cheated at the gas station,” said Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan on Tuesday (3/26/2024). Minister Zulkifli stressed that the fuel dispenser meters cheat in gas stations would not only harm financially, but also slow down the people in their travel. “Imagine I paid for 20 liters for my travel from Jakarta-Bandung. Where it should be enough. But then it was not since the gas stations only filled my car’s gas tank for 10 liters,” explained Minister Zulkifli. Therefore, he warned the gas station management to not play around and to do their job properly as there would be gas inspections nationwide. The inspection would make sure that the gas stations are not committing any cheating on their fuel dispenser meters to cheat the consumers. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
