inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency has named 10 suspects in an alleged clandestine drug laboratory in Pidie Regency, Aceh. The laboratory is suspected of being used to process liquid methamphetamine into crystal methamphetamine, amounting to 1.2 tons.

Head of Sub-Directorate III of the Narcotics Crimes Directorate of INP Criminal Investigation Agency, Senior Superintendent Zulkarnain Harahap, stated that officers arrested 11 people during the raid. After the investigation was advanced to the preliminary investigation stage, 10 people were named suspects, while one person remained a witness.

"Eighteen people were arrested during the raid. We have held a case review and have named 10 suspects," Zulkarnain said at the INP  Criminal Investigation Agency Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/27/2026).

The ten suspects include two Chinese nationals with the initials LJ and XM, and eight Indonesian citizens. The two are suspected of acting as chefs or chemists, processing liquid methamphetamine into crystal methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, MY and MZ are suspected of serving as assistant chefs, assisting with the processing and packaging of the drugs. Suspect AY is suspected of supplying logistical needs and preparing the laboratory for operation.

Suspect RZ played a role in procuring equipment and tools for processing methamphetamine. BS and MN are suspected of picking up and transporting two Chinese chefs from Malaysia to Aceh.

Two other suspects, RM and RY, are suspected of picking up the two chefs at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport in Banda Aceh before driving them to the laboratory.

The police have not named AK a suspect because investigators have not found any elements of malicious intent or mens rea indicating his involvement in the crime. AK is known to have worked under AY at the car paint shop used as the laboratory.

"The person concerned was not involved in the preparation, manufacturing, or any other stages, so we are still considering him a witness," said Zulkarnain.

In addition to naming 10 suspects, police are also hunting two individuals with the initials ES and JM, who are suspected of playing a role in the network.

ES is suspected of acting as a financier, ordering several individuals to travel to Medan, North Sumatra, to purchase necessary equipment. Meanwhile, JM is suspected of controlling the drug laboratory.
