inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming is pushing for enhanced training for prospective Indonesian interns planning to work in Japan to develop superior human resources with an understanding of the culture and work ethic of the destination country.

According to a statement from the Vice President's Secretariat, Gibran made this statement while receiving Pranyoto Widodo, Chairman of the Indonesian Kenshusei Employers Association (IKAPEKSI), and its management team, at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday (8/28/2026).

During the meeting, the Vice President and IKAPEKSI discussed strengthening the preparation of prospective interns before their departure to Japan, including through the establishment of an integrated training center.

According to Pranyoto, the training center is crucial to ensure prospective interns have mental readiness, cultural understanding, and a strong work ethic before entering the Japanese industrial world.

"With this vibrant training center, all Indonesians who wish to go to Japan will have to undergo approximately two weeks of training there to immerse themselves in the Japanese work and lifestyle cultures. That's why it's so crucial," he said in Jakarta on Monday (8/31/2026).

Pranyoto stated that the Vice President's proposal to establish the training center received a positive response. This support is considered an important step to strengthen the quality of prospective Indonesian interns while maximizing the benefits of their work experience in Japan.

"It's very positive, and he has been very responsive to the training center," Pranyoto concluded.

IKAPEKSI is a national organization that brings together alumni of Indonesian interns, job training programs, and professionals who have completed programs in Japan.

Upon returning home, these alumni are expected to contribute through competency development, knowledge transfer, and business start-ups.
