Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Ahead the 2024 General Election, police personnel are expected to maintain their good health to ensure security operations going smoothly during the elections. This was conveyed by West Sulawesi Police Chief, Inspector General Adang Ginanjar when giving his instructions on Monday (11/6/2023). “We are now in the 2023-2024 election stages, and for that we have to acknowledge that our physique, spirit and mind is heavily required (for our security operations) and have to be prepared since now,” calls the police chief. He then also reminded police personnel that during the elections, they are urged to stay neutral and not to be involved in political practice. Adang also asks personnel to be consistent in securing the state democracy during the political year, and not to be biased towards one candidate instead. Adang also explains that acting against candidates photo leaflets, brochures and banners and other political banners, are not the police duty because their duty is to only secure the situations in the area. In concluding his remarks, the police chief asks all personnel to strengthen their cooperation and remind each other, while also prevent any violations committed by the police or the public.
