Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. 14-year-old Indonesian racer Kiandra Ramadhipa won the second race of the Asia Talent Cup (ATC) 2024 opening series at the Lusail Circuit in Qatar on Sunday (10/3/2024).
Starting from fourth position, Kiandra briefly slipped to sixth at the race's start. However, he steadily fought his way back into contention among the top riders, as reported by antaranews.com
The teen racer took the lead on the fifth lap following an accident involving Japanese rider Ryota Ogiwara and Malaysian rider Farish Hafiy.
As the race reached its climax, a tight battle for the lead unfolded between Kiandra and two Japanese riders, Riichi Takahira and Zen Mitani.
On the final lap, tension mounted as he trailed in third behind Mitani and Takahira, who were vying for the lead.
In a thrilling finish, Kiandra executed a brilliant maneuver to overtake both Mitani and Takahira, securing victory in the second race.
Born on 4 December 2009, he claimed the top spot, earning 25 points and proudly playing the Indonesian national anthem at the circuit's podium.
Kiandra's triumph came after finishing fourth in the previous race, trailing three Japanese riders.
With this win, he sits second in the ATC 2024 standings with 38 points, just seven points behind Mitani.
The next race of the ATC season will take place at the Buddh International Circuit in India on 20-22 September 2024.
