Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Former Supreme Court official Zarof Ricar has been sentenced to 16 years in prison and fined Rp 1 billion by the Jakarta Corruption Court for bribery and receiving unlawful gratification.
The court also seized Rp 915 billion in cash and 51 kilograms of gold from Zarof.
“The defendant has been legally and convincingly proven guilty of conspiring to commit a corruption crime by offering or promising something to a judge in order to influence a case verdict,” said Chief Judge Rosihan Juhriah Rangkuti on Wednesday (18/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The court found Zarof guilty of influencing the Supreme Court verdict in the Ronald Tannur murder case and accepting illicit payments from 2012 to 2022. While prosecutors sought a 20-year sentence, judges considered Zarof’s age, remorse, and family responsibilities as mitigating factors.
The panel also noted the damage caused to public trust in the judiciary and revealed Zarof is under investigation in a separate money laundering case, making further prosecution likely.
In related rulings, Ronald’s mother Meirizka Widjaja received a three-year sentence for bribing a judge, while his lawyer Lisa Rachmat was sentenced to 11 years for the same offense.
