inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The 2024 Kie Raha Lilin Operation Preventive Task Force of North Maluku Regional Police patrols the churches ahead of 2024 Christmas while ensuring public safety during the year-end holiday season.

Head of North Maluku Regional Police Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Bambang Suharyono says that the patrol aims to anticipate any worst possibilities that may hinder Christmas service and celebration procession.

“We want to ensure that the Christians and the Catholics are able to celebrate Christmas peacefully. This patrol to the churches is part of our way to ensure their security,” says Bambang on Sunday (12/22/2024).

In the operation, security personnel inspected the situation around the churches, including the vehicles parked around the church and the belongings of the congregations. Moreover, personnel are also working together with church parties to further ensure the security.

“Security is our joint responsibility. We hope that the public will continue to collaborate in maintaining security and order,” says Bambang.

The 2024 Kie Raha Lilin Operation patrol will continue until the celebration of 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year’s Eve celebration in North Maluku.
