inp.polri.go.id - Kupang. The 2024 Lilin Operation Law Enforcement Task Force of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police conducted a security operation at churches around Kupang City, continued with patrol and monitoring on priority churches on Sunday (12/22/2024).

The Head of Counter-Terrorism Sub-task force, Second Police Inspector Roberto A. Correia says that the activity is part of an effort to ensure the security and safety of Christmas celebrations in NTT.

“We patrol the priority churches and locations crowded with people as a preventive effort and ensuring that people are safe and secure in celebrating Christmas. We will also continue to monitor the development in the field so that all security threat potentials can be anticipated immediately,” says Roberto.

This patrol activity aims to ensure that all public facilities, especially places of worship, receive maximum security. In addition, officers also monitor the situation around crowded locations, in order to anticipate any form of disturbance that could disrupt public order.
