inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital recorded three strategic steps to utilize artificial intelligence (AI), for the economic growth of the community.

Vice Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, said that the first step is to optimize the use of AI for the commercial industry. He said that by optimizing the use of AI, Indonesia can compete internationally.

"First, we must ensure that Indonesia participates in the global AI ecosystem, starting from the development level, to the commercialization level," he said on Friday (3/14/2025).

In his statement, he said that the use of AI for the commercial industrial sector will provide convenience and practicality. Not only that, the use of AI in the commercial industry will increase its productivity and competitiveness.

Meanwhile, the next step is for industrial sectors to be able to improve and increase collaboration. This, he explained, will open up the widest possible opportunities for the commercial industry in developing its productivity.

Along with the increasing capacity of AI usage in the commercial industry, the last step is the preparation of regulations. Nezar revealed that the Ministry of Communication and Digital is preparing it, in order to provide protection and mitigate various risks of using AI in the commercial industry.

"The third is to accelerate the preparation of regulations that encourage innovation, protect citizens' rights, and carry out fairly good risk mitigation," he concluded.
