inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Anambas Islands Sub-regional Police conducted a border patrol on Tokong Nanas Island, which directly borders Malaysia, in order to prevent potential disturbances.

Anambas Sub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Raden Ricky Pratidiningrat said that this border patrol shows the police presence in the border area.

"The presence of the police on the outermost islands is proof that we are ready to guard every region of the Republic of Indonesia, including those that are vulnerable and remote areas such as Tokong Nanas Island," said Raden in his confirmation in Batam, Monday (6/23/2025).

In the security operation, the patrol team was dispatched using the Mina Martin 116 motorboat (KM) on Saturday (6/21/2025), arriving at 11.00 am after traveling for approximately three hours.

At the location, the team raised the Indonesian Flag as a form of affirmation of the country's sovereignty in the border area.

The patrol activity led by the Siantan Sector Police Chief, First Police Inspector Sutomo, took place in a safe, smooth and conducive condition. This patrol was also in order to welcome the 79th Bhayangkara Anniversary.

According to Sutomo, this border patrol is a demonstration of dedication of the apparatus in maintaining the integrity of the country.

"This patrol is not only about physical security of the area, but also building a spirit of nationalism in the outermost points of this country," he said.

Raden said that this border patrol will continue to be optimized as a form of joint commitment to maintaining Indonesia's sovereignty at the forefront.
