Inp.polri.go.id - Serang. Banten Regional Police have uncovered a major illegal drugs network operating between Banten and North Jakarta, seizing over 35,000 pills including Tramadol, Hexymer, and Trihexyphenidyl, commonly misused in prescription drug abuse.
“This illegal distribution disguised as commercial trade poses a serious threat to public health,” said Senior Superintendent Wiwin Setiawan, the Banten Police Director of Narcotics, on Friday (1/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Two suspects, identified as YS (33) and AR (32), were arrested in connection with the case, while another suspect, SL, remains a fugitive.
Suspect YS was apprehended in Pandeglang on 27 May 2025, leading to a second arrest of AR on July 28 at his cosmetics shop, which served as a front for drug trafficking in Indonesia.
Both suspects face charges under Indonesia’s Health Law, with a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.
