inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Marthinus Hukom, welcomed the plan to rehabilitate productive-age drug-using prisoners through the reserve component (komcad) program.

Coordination with the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections  Yusril Ihza Mahendra and the Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas has also been carried out to ensure the smooth procession of this initiative.

"I think it's a very good program because they will be busy with productive activities as Komcad is part of mental, spiritual, physical, mental, and identity development," said Marthinus as quoted by ANTARA on Monday (12/23/2024).

It is known that the Coordinating Minister for Law and Human Rights and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the government is preparing to grant amnesty to productive-age drug-using prisoners.

"These young people instead have to be trained and then included in the government program activities. We all know that the government wants to achieve food self-sufficiency and open plantations in Papua and Kalimantan; Thus, those who have been trained by the reserve unit can be deployed there, if they are interested," said Coordinating Minister Yusril.

On a different occasion, the Minister of Law and Human Rights said that amnesty was given to users with drug possession of less than 1 gram, in accordance with the Circular of the Supreme Court. In addition, drug dealers are excluded from the amnesty proposal by President Prabowo Subianto.
