Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. The Bogor Regency Sub-regional Police implemented a series of traffic diversions on the Puncak Highland route on Sunday (15/2/2026) to manage a surge of 64,000 vehicles during the Lunar New Year long weekend.
Authorities initiated a one-way southbound system toward Jakarta at noon, restoring normal flow by 5.30 pm. after clearing heavy holiday congestion.
"We enforced the one-way downward flow starting at 12 pm as a significant number of visitors began their return journey from the Puncak tourist area," said First Inspector Ardian Novianto, the Head of Operation Supervision of the Bogor Police Traffic Unit, as quoted by antaranews.com
Data from the Ciawi Toll Gate recorded 22,600 vehicles entering the highlands, while 24,800 headed toward the capital. Despite a slight dip in hotel occupancy to 48%, officials anticipate another peak on Monday.
To mitigate gridlock, police will deploy 20 personnel to maintain odd-even plate restrictions and situational one-way schemes throughout the remainder of the public holiday.
