Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid confirmed on Friday (21/3/2025) that the iPhone 16 series has obtained the required postel certification, ensuring compliance with Indonesia’s technical and regulatory standards.
"If it’s from our office, the Ministry of Communication and Digital, all iPhone 16 variants have completed the process," she said during a media gathering in Jakarta, as reported by atnaranews.com.
According to the postel certification website, five iPhone 16 models—iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16e—have received their certificates.
Following this approval, Apple must subsequently secure an Import Product Registration (TPP) from the Ministry of Industry and register the devices’ International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) before sales can commence.
"Since all permits from our ministry are finalized, it should be available in the market very soon," Minister Meutya assured.
The iPhone 16 launch in Indonesia had previously faced delays due to local content (TKDN) requirements. A deal was reached after Apple committed to investing $150 million in a Batam-based factory through its supplier, ICT Luxshare, to produce AirTag accessories.
