Inp.polri.go.id - Subang.  Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the 1 Million Hectare Corn Planting Program is a strategic step to achieve food self-sufficiency, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives.

“We aim to plant over 300,000 hectares in the first quarter and are confident of reaching 1 million hectares by year-end,” he said during the program’s launch in Subang, West Java, on Tuesday (21/1/2025).

Chief Sigit highlighted East Java’s achievement, where corn yields reached 18–20 tons per hectare, far above the national average of 5 tons. In West Kalimantan, plans are underway to build a processing plant to support the initiative’s sustainability.

The program is expected to significantly boost rural economies, potentially increasing local economic turnover to Rp 10 billion.

The event in Karang Mukti Village featured symbolic planting, equipment distribution, and aid for farmers, attended by Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman and other officials.
