inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital (Wamekomdigi) Nezar Patria said that cellular telecommunications data service traffic increased by up to 23 percent during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.
“According to the report, there is an increase in data use traffic, particularly in Tanjung Emas Port. According to the cellular report, there is an increase of 21-23 percent,” says Nezar Patria on Thursday (1/2/2025).
He emphasized that the government has set a minimum cellular network speed standard of 30 Mbps in strategic areas such as ports, stations and airports.
Nezar explained that during the Christmas and New Year holidays, the quality of the telecommunications network and radio frequency spectrum has been running smoothly to maintain the safety of passenger mobility, both at sea on land and in the air.
"We ensure that the telecommunications line is running well, the frequency is safe and guarded by the Frequency Monitoring Center. So that interference and frequency disturbances can be prevented," said Wamenkomdigi.
During the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays, there was a spike in the number of vehicles crossing the Trans Sumatra and Trans Java routes of more than 30 percent.
To that end, the Ministry of Communication and Information is tasked with ensuring the smooth quality of telecommunications at several points of interest such as airports, ports, and others.
