inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Ahmad Sahroni urged the murderer with the initials of SJ, who mutilates his three victims in Padang Pariaman, to be sentenced with death penalty.
In his statement in Jakarta, Sahroni saw that the murder by SJ was not just an ordinary murder, but an act that led to psychopathic traits.
"This is not just a murder. We saw the murderer mutilate his victims, he dumped the bodies to the river. This concludes that he planned this act. We also found out that SJ was having a debt to his victims," he said.
Therefore, Sahroni asked the authorities to charge suspect SJ with Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning the crime of premeditated murder.
"I ask law enforcement officers not to hesitate to sentence him with the maximum penalty, which is death penalty or life imprisonment," he said.
Furthermore, Sahroni also urged the authorities to ensure that the state firmly takes action against extreme crimes in order to create a sense of security for the community.
"There is no room for compromise in cases like this. Law enforcers must not hesitate, let alone be soft. Show that law enforcers will maintain public security and have the courage to take a tough stance against perpetrators of extreme cruelty like this," he said.
