Personnel from Violent Crimes Sub-Directorate III of East Java Regional Police, have been deployed to strengthen the Lumajang Sub-regional Police's efforts to track down the perpetrators. This action demonstrates the East Java Regional Police's commitment to eradicating street crimes.
The Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Jules Abraham Abast confirmed the deployment of the unit to expedite the case's resolution.
"The team has been mobilized to track down the perpetrators. This personnel assistance is to support the investigation of Lumajang Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit," he said on Monday (8/11/2025).
Over the past week, a series of motor vehicle theft cases in Lumajang have captured public attention. Some of the incidents occurred within a short period of time.
One of them involved two students participating in a Community Service Program (KKN) in Alun-Alun Village, Ranuyoso District. A motorcycle parked at the village office was missing after the perpetrators managed to enter the building.
"The team in the field is working day and night. We will do our utmost to eradicate this street crime," he stressed.
