inp.polri.go.id - Serang. A fire broke out in the 3rd floor staff room of the Banten Regional Police on Sunday (9/3/25) at around 21:40 pm. Vice Chief of Banten Regional Police Brigadier General Hengki confirmed the fire incident.

"It is true that a fire broke out on the 3rd floor of our staff room, the incident occurred at around 21:40 WIB. Thanks to our prepared personnel, assisted by the Serang City Fire Department, the fire was successfully extinguished at 22:20 WIB," explained Hengki in a written statement on Monday (3/10/2025).

According to him, there were five fire trucks at the location and one water cannon car belonging to the police to handle the incident. The electricity in the main building of the Banten Regional Police was immediately turned off while cooling was carried out.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. He explained that the Indonesian National Police forensic lab will explain the cause of the fire.

"Currently, we are investigating the fire location," explained the Deputy Chief of Police.
