inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government through the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of the Ministry of Finance has successfully thwarted the smuggling of goods worth IDR 4.06 trillion in the span of 100 working days of the Red and White Cabinet.

"We have carried out 6,187 enforcement actions. The total value of goods and services secured reached IDR 4.06 trillion, with potential state losses that were successfully prevented amounting to IDR 820 billion," said State Treasurer Sri Mulyani Indrawati in her statement on Wednesday (2/5/2025).

Customs and excise enforcement areas are spread across various locations, with details of 49 percent at ports, 15 percent at airports, 10 percent on the coast, and 16 percent in other places such as highways and bonded areas. The commodities most frequently secured include cigarettes, liquor, textiles and textile products, electronics, and cosmetics for import cases, while for export cases they include baby lobsters, tin sand, and rattan.

Sri Mulyani also emphasized that customs and excise supervision must continue to be strengthened with adaptive, technology-based strategies and synergy with various parties.

To that end, Customs and Excise implements four main strategies, namely strengthening services and supervision, strengthening operations, synergy with law enforcement officers (APH), and optimizing container scanning at major ports.

One of the results of this strategy is the increased effectiveness of container scanning at Tanjung Priok Port, which is able to accelerate the customs clearance process from 0.55 hours to 0.49 hours and increase the transparency of container contents to 100 percent.

In the future, Customs is committed to continuing to strengthen surveillance operations in the waters, increasing the effectiveness of investigations in handling cases, and strengthening support for customs and excise operations through synergy with officers at land and sea borders.
