inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Social Affairs, Agus Jabo Priyono stated that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program can eradicate poverty and have an impact on the regional economy.

"The MBG program will not only prepare the Golden Generation in 2045, but also create economic dynamics through strong and solid collaboration with villages, which is able to generate a flow of money amounting to IDR 6 billion-IDR 7 billion," said Agus on Wednesday (2/5/2025).

He emphasized that poverty alleviation is also one of President Prabowo Subianto's priorities. Acceleration efforts are carried out through the MBG program and community empowerment, such as the Family Hope Program (PKH).

"President Prabowo wants the problem of poverty in Indonesia to be resolved as soon as possible," adds Agus.

According to him, eradicating poverty is not an easy matter. Therefore, an effective program such as MBG is needed, which not only ensures proper nutrition for children and pregnant or breastfeeding mothers, but also moves the wheels of the economy to remote villages which can have a direct impact on reducing poverty rates.

Agus said that the Ministry of Social Affairs is also accelerating poverty eradication efforts, one of the strategies of which is to encourage 18.8 million recipients of social assistance and 10 million PKH recipients to be free out of extreme poverty.
