inp.polri.go.id - Badung. Bali Governor Wayan Koster emphasized that his party does not want to allow the presence of thugs under the guise of community organizations (ormas) in Bali.
This was conveyed during the inauguration of Bale Paruman Adhyaksa and Bale Restorative Justice in response to the viral news of the presence of mass organizations in Bali.
"They say they are an organization, but in truth they are just a group of thugs. This cannot be allowed," said Koster in Badung Regency, Thursday (5/8/2025).
It is known that in the past week, the United Indonesian People's Movement (GRIB) Jaya mass organization has emerged in Bali, making Yosef Nahak its chairman, and they have even formed a membership in Tabanan Regency.
Governor Koster then emphasized that what should be done now is to return the power to resolve problems to the roots of culture, namely traditional villages, rather than utilizing disturbing organizations.
"Anyone who misuses the name of the organization to disturb the community will face customs and the state directly, do not underestimate the power of Balinese culture," he said.
Koster reminded that there is already an existing role for the integrated security system of traditional villages (sipandu adat) which consists of security personnel and pecalang in Bali.
If the institutions within it such as the pecalang are strong, Bali would not need community organizations that carry hidden agendas under the guise of wanting to protect Bali.
The Bali Provincial Government sees the Bali High Prosecutor's Office program, namely presenting Bale Paruman Adhyaksa and Bale Restorative Justice, as a good example that should develop.
Bale Paruman Adhyaksa based on customary law is predicted to be a new fortress that is able to suppress social crime without having to go through the courts.
"This is not just a legal matter, this is a bet on the future of Bali," said Koster.
