inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions reminded regional apparatus organizations (OPD) to educate village heads in their regions regarding the use of village funds for food security programs.
According to the Head of the Center for Development of Competitiveness and Information for Villages and Disadvantaged Regions Luthfy Latief, this education is important to be carried out by related OPDs, such as the Community and Village Empowerment Service (PMD) and the Agriculture Service, so that the use of village funds for food security programs is truly on target.
"If there is no education, it could be wrong to use this fairly large food security fund," said Luthfy, Friday (6/13/2025).
Furthermore, Luthfy said that the Ministry of Villages does not limit villages in the country to develop certain types of food. He said that each village is given the freedom to determine the type of food developed based on the potential of existing natural resources while adjusting to the characteristics of the village.
"The food security program uses village funds to adjust the characteristics of the potential owned by the village. If the village is suitable for rice, please do it. If it is suitable for livestock, please do it also," he said.
Luthfy hopes that the knowledge sharing activity about food and climate resilient villages can present various examples of good practices and recommendations from one village to other villages in building food and climate resilience.
