Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia assured the sustained commitment to the resolutions made during the G20 Bali Summit at the G20 New Delhi Summit on Wednesday (13/9/23). Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto emphasized Indonesia's pivotal role within the Troika, underlining the nation's responsibility in upholding discussions on Indonesian initiatives within the G20 arena. During the Summit, Indonesia outlined key priorities, placing a special emphasis on executing agreements forged at the G20 Bali Summit. These encompass vital sectors such as Global Health Architecture, Digital Economic Transformation, and Energy Transition. Notably, the digital economic transformation segment emphasized cybersecurity and the formulation of regulations surrounding artificial intelligence (AI). Meanwhile, the energy transition discussions encompassed sustainable downstream manufacturing and initiatives to foster a low-carbon economy. Minister Airlangga underscored the urgency of closely monitoring and adapting to the swift evolution of digital transformation, particularly in light of the swift advancements in technologies like AI that often outpace regulatory efforts. Such vigilance is crucial for effectively managing associated risks. Furthermore, Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment as a neutral nation, aligning with New Delhi's G20 Presidency theme, "One Earth, One Family, One Future." With a shared purpose, the aim is to foster a fair economy and ensure equitable access to resources for all stakeholders. During the inaugural day of the G20 Summit in New Delhi, President Joko Widodo underscored three fundamental pillars for global development: stability, solidarity, and equality. It was emphasized that global progress must be underpinned by stability achieved through dialogue and collaboration. Minister Airlangga asserted that the G20 Forum must actively extend support to developing countries in the global supply chain, stating, "The G20 Forum must also provide support to developing countries in the global supply chain with the principles of justice and inclusion. In terms of substance, several agreements in the New Delhi Declaration are considered to have an impact on Indonesia, including efforts to overcome deforestation by focusing on sustainable forest use and supporting communities that depend on forests." The agreement also includes commitments to support financing for developing countries, the role of biofuels in low-emission development strategies, and various efforts to mobilize funds on a trillion-dollar scale. The government remains optimistic that these commitments will be translated into tangible action, with hopes for steadfast support from countries like the US and institutions such as the World Bank. The G20 New Delhi Leaders' Declaration has been approved by G20 members and reached a joint agreement, including regarding global geopolitical conditions which was the last issue resolved by the members.
