Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo has strengthened cooperation with Japan's police to enhance the protection of Indonesian citizens in Japan.
Muhammad Al Aula, the Coordinator for Information and Social-Cultural Affairs at the Embassy, highlighted on Wednesday (22/1/2025) the importance of this collaboration to ensure Indonesians’ safety and prevent legal issues.
"Japan's police are committed to maintaining security, including for foreigners," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The Embassy plans to work with the Japanese Police to educate Indonesians on Japanese laws to reduce the risk of violations.
During a meeting on 21 January 2025, officials discussed developments in Indonesian community activities in Japan, such as the Yoyogi Festival 2024. The police also raised their commitment to assist in legal education efforts for Indonesians.
At present there are 173,000 Indonesians living in Japan.
