Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Navy's KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda-367  (KRI SIM-367) naval vessel conducted maneuver and helicopter flight drills in the Mediterranean waters off Lebanon.

Rear Admiral I Made Wira Hady, Head of the Indonesian Navy’s Information Service, said on Thursday (20/2/2025) that the drills aimed to enhance crew proficiency in ship maneuvers and interception operations, as well as strengthen coordination among  the Maritime Task Force (MTF)  units operating in the region.

The exercise involved KRI SIM-367 (Indonesia), BNS Sangram-F113 (Bangladesh), Greek frigate HS Nikiforos Fokas (F-466), and an AS 565 MBe Panther helicopter (HS-1306).

KRI SIM-367 replaced KRI Diponegoro-365, which previously served for a year.

The Indonesian MTF’s mission focuses on monitoring maritime traffic to prevent the smuggling of weapons and other illegal goods into Lebanon.
